MAC A/W '10: Fabulous Felines

The Burmese Collection

Press Release:
You can keep her, but you’ll never own her.
From the royal halls of ancient Egypt to the wilds of the jungle, the noble cat has always been associated with the exotic, mysterious, beauty, elegance, and most of all, the feminine.
M·A·C has a seductive new take on the feline mystique. M·A·C FABULOUS FELINES. The most alluring, preening, fawned-over facets of the feline are magnified and accentuated in three new collections inspired by the colours and textures of the world’s most prized pedigrees, perfectly mirroring the rich shades and slinky sophisticated looks we saw on the Fall 2010 runways.
There’s the pampered creature of luxury, the chocolate-hued Burmese, the wild and sleek ginger Ocicat, and the plush and privileged sable Russian Blue. It’s everything compelling we loved on the catwalk…chic, couture-inspired and cunningly compulsory!

For more seriously awesome pictures of the huge collection, look on after the jump!

The Ocicat Collection

The Russian Blue Collection
Create the perfect cat eye with our new Superslick Liquid Eye Liner in six new hues from an eye-warming Defiantly Feline to golden Pure Show. Stroke on the luxe with six multi-hued pigments. And who can resist creating a pedigree lip that starts with Lipstick in Pet Me, Please or Drive Me Wild, before stroking on Lipglass in A Quiet Roar, Lap of Luxury or Best of Breed (eight new limited edition!)? Lustrous and gorgeous, with an ounce of danger for good measure, Fabulous Felines is an elegant standout. Now, strut your stuff, walk the walk and strike a pose!
Catty remarks seem to be compulsory at the couture shows, but fall 2010 is a slinky, seductive new take on feline fabulousness. Introducing three debut colour collections — a meow mix of sorts — all purr, cuddle, and caress one minute… then suddenly, darting danger!
A kind of sophisticated intellect that instinctively knows how to be elegant, then purrrrfectly pounces! Inspired by the patterns, shades and textures of three of our favourite pedigreed cats – the chocolate lynx Burmese, leopard-like ginger Ocicat, and aristocratic Russian Blue. Cat fanciers know these Fabulous Felines are endlessly fascinating.
The Breakdown of the Three Looks:
Shades of sable, champagne, and teak-olive, the Burmese is saucer-eyed and sensually compelling, prized for her sophistication and intelligence but woefully ill-equipped for the real world — she should never be let outside!
Luxury, pampering, excess — all attend the Burmese in her indulgent glory. A colour collection that celebrates the well-cared-for, and exalts in her high-borne right to be spoiled…she knows how to get what she wants. She’s a creature of luxury, and should be treated as such.
With mesmerizing emerald eyes and a plush, silvery, sable-like coat, the Russian Blue was brought by British sailors from the Archangel Isles of Northern Russia.
Snatched from the palaces of the Tsars at the behest of Queen Victoria, her smile and her great beauty were said to amuse Her Majesty. In homage to the aristocratic heritage of this silver-and-emerald Royal, we’ve created a collection of colour every bit as hypnotic and enchanting as its finely favoured feline inspiration.
Wild, like her sleek sisters of the forest — the Ocelots and lightning-fast Lynx — the long-limbed, lithe ginger Ocicat boasts legs like a legendary supermodel, and a persona every bit as exotic.
But appearances can be deceiving — this is the kitten that roars, the lion that purrs, the wild thing that seems to possess a tender, kittenish cuddle. To wit: A colour collection as fierce as it looks, but as feminine as it feels…lips, cheeks and eyes that betray both sensual vulnerability and spectacular power.

So which collection did you like best? Honestly not to be biased,
but I like the Burmese one (first pic before the jump) ;)
