Try it for the weekend: Homemade Sugar Scrubs

No matter how much you love the spa and claim to have detox days every month, there's nothing like a simple at home treatment that yields some instantly gratifying results. If you've got sugar, then you're good as gold for these very simple recipes after the jump.

Recipe #1 – Brown Sugar Scrub
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of almond oil
1/4 cup of liquid Ivory (or any creamy) hand soap
1/4 tsp of vanilla

This is a very simple but effective way of getting rid of dull skin. After using this yummy smelling scrub you'll probably feel like a scrumptious pastry. The almond oil will remain as a thin layer on your skin, trapping the moisture in from the shower.

Recipe #2 – Lemon Sugar Scrub
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup olive oil
1 TBS lemon zest (grated)

Want to brighten up your dark spots and freckles? Don't be afraid to use this on your shoulders, legs, knees and elbows. You can substitute the olive oil for liquid glycerin if you want to use it for your face.

Recipe #3 – Coffee & Brown Sugar Scrub
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
3 TBS fresh coffee grounds
5 tsp almond oil
5 tsp jojoba oil
2 tsp honey
1 tsp vitamin E
1 tsp vanilla

This is probably my favorite scrub. Coffee not only stimulates your senses, but it slims your body and prevents cellulite! If you don't have all those oils, not to worry, any Healthy Options branch has got them (you could always pop a couple Vitamin E caps open).

Happy weekend!
