NARS A/W '10: "Old Hollywood meets the Future"... an in depth preview!

The new fall collection for NARS is really exciting for me. Inspired by Daphne Guinness, this collection is described by Francois Nars as Old Hollywood meets Futuristic look. The colors are really intense, but somehow I find them to be perfectly wearable for most skin tones. Let me break the collection down for you after the jump!

The new blush of the season is called Douceur, which is a soft, very versatile pinky brown hue that apparently imparts a "honeyed kiss" to your cheeks. It looks really subtle and pretty, I'm sure it will do well! Making it a tad more special, the powder is embossed with the NARS logo, only for this new collection. It costs around $26, so locally that would be about Php 1170.

The three shades of shadow this season are all completely different, but they work so well alone or blended together:

The almost hypnotizing shade of deep violet aptly called Daphne (after Guinness) is one of those super freaky colors that look so good as liner or blended towards the lids and then outward like a modern Bowie look. The color is so rich and highly pigmented that a little goes a long, long way.
Mangrove, which is a supersoft shade of yellow with just the slightest tinge of lime can actually be used as a base for your more insane bright color. It was also created to highlight the inner corner of your eye or tone down a deeper shade of shadow.
Coconut Grove was named after the neighborhood in Biscayne Bay, which is a place that attracts a lot of artist types. A super dense and dramatic chocolate-taupe color, this can be used as a liner or to increase depth on your lid. All shadows, $23, so in Manila it would cost around Php 1035.

I think this is one of the best lipstick shades this season, and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. The new Rouge Basque lipstick is named for the french Basque region, and the color was inspired by the color of a book from the area and the wine for which the area is known for. It has a satin finish, and it's a beautiful brick red, which is one of the more flattering shades for yellow toned skin. Lipstick, $24, so that's just about Php 1080.

The press release asks you to think about mouthwatering ripe strawberries that were just picked. The new lipgloss for fall seems to be such a confection that it almost looks edible on your lips. The cutely named Strawberry Fields is meant to be worn alone or on top of lipstick. It's packed with tons of Vitamin E so that your lips are sealed with moisture. Lipgloss, $24, so Php 1080.

This new soft-touch eye pencil was named after the glamorous, glitzy NYC hotspot Palladium.
The sparkling turquoise color is an homage to the vibrancy of its namesake, not to mention it's one of the most fashionable liner colors at the moment! Layer it with other products, or use it alone for instant impact! $24, Php 1080.

The two eyeshadow duos of this fall collection are so killer that no matter how you roll at night (sweetly sexy or straight out vixenish) there is something for you here!

The more demure of the two, Tzarine, is named after the empresses of Russia. The name implies love, sex, power and royalty. The pretty platinum gold is paired with a bold steel gray for some awesome metallic smoky eyes.

As for the other palette, this is one of my must-have color combinations for this season. Rajasthan is India's largest state and brings to mind scorching heat, sacred temples and exotic beauty. The colors featured are a glazed, pretty almond paired with a dark and cool charcoal. This could be worn solo or blended, this palette is really for drama (below).
$32, Php 1440.

Sigh. Love at first sight.
